Well not totally. i mean lots of companys put low RMS so that you are affriad to go over them. I mean most major speaker supplier is known to under estimating (spelt that WRONG) I have 2 15" Power Hx2 RMS is susposly 1000 watts i have 1500 on each , doing fine. Going a little over won't kill them but with them not giving you true specs becareful how much power you do supply them. Safe bet just go 10 over. But to each is own. Lot of people have their own thoughts on this subject.
