almost all 4th gen older VTEC's burn oil after the hi cam enages and stays in there for a while. its because of bad rings. I'm starting to see some 5th gen doing the same thing now since its gotten older.

my 93 VTEC with 97k miles on it, running thur Wyoming on way to Arizona, i stopped at a gas station, checked the oil got gas, headed out on a long stretch road where i stayed at about 120 mph for about a good 5-10 miles. Stopped at a gas station about 200 miles later, also going past 100 at some times.

When i checked the oil dip stick, i think about 1 maybe 2 quarts low. I drove another 300-350 miles only going past vtec for accelration to 60mph. no high speed runs, and no oil was lost.

So for my theory it burns oil when u stay in vtec for a long period of time. but im not so sure if the 5th gen shares the same problems. but im sure it does.
