I actually did end up going with the Denso's. The NGK's were harder to find. Denso's are a direct factory replacement too. I'm quite pleased with them.
What would cause burnt oil residue to appear on the spark plug wire boot? It was on the cylinder closest to the passanger side of the car.
The plug did seem to be looser than the rest of the plugs. The plug itself looked a tadd burnt but not bad.
