I know 270 BHP is measured with the engine out of the car and is measured at the flywheel. I think Acura is overinflating their numbers.

That goes for the S2000 as well, your saying it loses over 25% through the drivetrain? No way man.

For example, an Eagle Talon 2nd gen makes 175WHP and the factory claims 210HP at the crank, thats a 20% loss and the talon has AWD which causes a larger drivetrain loss.

No way a RWD or FWD will lose more than an AWD through the drivetrain. You said you beat a Maxima with the TL? I have seen the new Altimas beat the TL's everytime. I have seen this numorous of times and some TL owners that own an Altima amit that its faster.
I dont know where you're getting ur numbers from and i think you're doing it backwards.
First off the TL is rated at 258 crank hp. U yourself said they lose from 15-20% through the drivetrain (which is the general average). Thats an average of 17.5% drivetrain loss.
With simple math: 258 x 17.5%= 45.15 HP loss to the TLs drivetrain. U then take 258hp minus the 45.15 horses u lost due to drivetrain. What does that equal?? 212.85 WHP.
So it seems the factory is on point with their ratings.

258 - (258 x .175) = 212.85
whereas the .175 represents 17.5% average drivetrain loss.

Oh and for the comment on me beating the maxima. Ive raced 2 so far, a manual and an auto and have never lost to any of them. All i have is a K&N drop in. Even if u calculate power to weight ratios, the TL comes out on top.
Couple that with the fact that it also comes with an LSD (in 6mt models) ....i think the TL should come out on top most of the time. Of course it also depends on the driver.
