A $28,000 TSX with I/H/E will give me what, maybe 245hp. And a $28,000 Mustang with I/H/E will give me 325hp. Power is power. There are ways to make the Mustang handle better. IMO.
The S2000 is a great platform, but I don't want another used car to be able to afford one. And the G35, BMW and RDX are out of my price range too.
I'll miss the heated seats and the lovely truck space, though.

245hp out a I/H/E with a TSX? I don't think so. My 06 TSX puts down at least 15whp more than your 04 because of changes made between 05 and 06. I/H/E will put you right where I'm at stock. There are guys running 280whp in there TSX over at TSXCLUB. Of course they supercharged it with a few more mods but its pretty damn impressive for a TSX.
Your comparing apples and oranges here. Luxury car and sports car. A TSX and Mustang aren't EVER compared. Find a magazine or article that considers them in the same category and let me know.
If your looking for American muscle then a Mustang is the way to go. Might even want to consider a SRT-4. They are about 8-10 grand if not more cheaper, easy to upgrade and with a stage 3 mopar upgrade will smoke a mustang. (which is also covered under warranty)
A brand new Mustang GT is going to run you 26k(msrp). you might get it a few grand cheaper or right at msrp since Ford is desperate to sell cars. You can pick up a used SRT-4 for well under 20k. i'd say in the 15k range maybe even cheaper. Don't limit your options to just the Mustang because at the price of a brand new one your in used Z06 range...
