Meth injection acts just like a chemical intercooler, it will lower intake temps drastically, it allows you to run more boost/more advanced timing on the same octane rating. When you buy a kit, it comes with everything you need, it comes on at pretty low boost..like under 5psi im pretty sure. Same A/F ratio as before, like between 10.5:1-12:1, its getting more popular because its pretty safe, you just have to make sure its always on, always has water/meth mixture, all the vacuum sources are secured because if something malfunctions and you're running more boost, more timing and all of a sudden the injection quits, i'm sure you can guess what happens.
