The tuner toyz pieces are your only bet on a budget. I just checked thier website and it appears to not be working. So I dunno if they are in bussiness anymore. But they had D series rods for about $225. Another cheapo approach is to use a LS rod rebushed on the piston end for the d series piston. Crower sells the bushings. You can do that (assuming you have the LS B18a/b rods(PR4) for about $100. Good for another 50-75hp over a stock set of d rods and more revs. Vtec blocks/internals are WAY better - if your gonna go through the hassle of building one start there. Even if you don't use a vtec head the bottom end will take more abuse.
