did you ever resolve this? my car had the same problem. drove to class just fine, came back out, went to start it (i always let the fuel pump prime before i start and all that magic happened just fine) and not even a click. grounds look fine. the afore mentioned wires are connected, just wondered if the tapping helped you? just replaced 2 axles, and cant afford to start replacing things at the moment. (new dad too =$$$$$$$$)
