A compression test wont tell you if you have bad OIL ring, many techs unfortunately mis diagnose this... i think you have to do a leakdown test

some other problems can be a worn rod or crank bearings where there is too much oil clearance.

the only way to know for sure, is to do the leakdown test and take apart the engine.
