but your right. vtec doesn't affect peak hp potential. vtec is there to broaden tq and improve gas mileage. why do you think v8's don't use vtec? because it doesn't affect peak hp and they already have broad powerbands. and vtec isn't for power on all models. civic ex's don't even have aggressive cam lobes to switch too. aint that vtec-e a bitch ;-)
