i hope to make more then 170whp, ksniperfox got that and his head wasn't really built right? also my compression will be abit higher just because i'll have the y8 head on the z6 block, so 180whp seems reasonable right? my specs will be probably about the same as his other then the built head, intake, and my 68mm tb (it kinda seems to much huh?) btw would i be able to rev to 8,000rpms safely with my head, the block can handle it right (forget the sleeved a6, i'm sticking with my z6 block)? seems doable but i gota check with u guys

crower springs/retainers
AEM cam gear

another question, how high compression can i have before i have to get special gas? like i want to be able to go to normal gas stations tank up on 91 or 89 if its possible and have no problems with detonation or anything

yes it is. And I dont know why but is seems the A6 makes more power with the SC than the vtec head will. At the stock 6 psi level the A6 makes just as much if not a little more than the Z6 and Y8 and this is coming from a motor that start out about 20hp lower. I will find out soon what my car is making but i have two more little things to do before my dyno run.
anassa, break out the measuring tape and measure your UO pulley. the d16y8 pulley is 6.29 inches in diameter and is the largest d series CP(you want the largest for max boost).
and there have been many horror stories from the use of the UO pulley, and the gains are extremely minimal. if you still wish to use it and make less boost, please do some research and find out what youre risking.
i wouldn't rev the block past the stock 7300 limit if it is not built for it. yes, the head can handle it, but the bottom cannot. not to mention, the blower was not designed to spin that fast either.
btw i thought you had the jdm d16a with a z6 head or some shit? please explain, i forgot.

lol ya, my engine is a D16A (stamped on the block) its OBD1 the head has NOT been swapped its a complete engine that way its the same spec wise as a D16z6, only a few JDM versions where stamped D16A instead of ZC (92-95 civic ex/si), i'll measure the pully now, i just inclueded it in the pics cause i had it

please tell me your plans for the SC? do you already have it? what else do you have to get?
how much do you make and what is your budget/timeframe from current to dynotune? you can PM if you dont wanna post here. just wondering how long before you get on the dyno.

well the SC should be on the way i'll post pics as soon as i get it, budget wise i'm keeping it as cheap or at least cost effective as possible, and dyno time... well i have no idea, it could be awhile, i can't even promise that i'll get on the dyno this month, new school yr comming up and i still gota pay off my rex to my parents, got it for a good price but had to borrow the money from pops to get it . . got 1gran to go

Well i dont know if you know a guy name Mista Bone hes on alot of honda sites he deals mostly with D series honda motors well he had access to some flow benching and found that the A6 actually flowed better than the vtec heads. even though they had bigger valves. Thats his info not mine and also Bisimoto also used the A6 heads for his drag cars instead of the vtec peices.
