how can i make more boost?
setup is in the sig. JR does not make boost upgrade kits for the SOHC any longer, i called moss motors and asked directly. ive been keepin my eyes peeled on ebay for a bigger crank pulley(they used to make them) for the sohc boost upgrade set.
so when i was talking to moss motors i asked how can i make more boost, and he said he could send me a 3.2' blower pulley from the rsx m45 kit which would make about 2-3 more psi over the stock 3.8' pulley. so i ordered it.
in addition to that, i have the following sitting on the floor of my room:
dsm 450cc injectors
hondata intake manifold gasket(lower air intake temps)
4-2-1 header(i will install myself)
then when the blower pulley comes in its time for a re-tune+install the other shit. but this is about the last time i want to tune it, get it all done with at once. are there any other tricks of the trade to increase boost? i inquired about a b20 crank pulley but it does not mate to a D.
also any other ideas for some cheap but useful upgrades for the upcoming dynotune to help make power? i cant really think of anything else, ive pretty much covered all grounds for keeping it stock block and head.
by the way i dyno'd at 143whp/120wtq on the setup in the sig on a stock exhaust manifold. any ideas what i should set my goal for with the next step ive listed here?

RSX kit is M45??? I could have sworn they were M62 kits??? Do they have the same rib count?
Anyhow, the only other option is to look and see what other Honda crank will fit your civic that is compatible? That and the smaller nose pulley. Not much other choice in increasing boost for the D-series.

Yep, it's difficult to increase the boost on a D beyond the blower pulley. There's always Nitrous which you could add on top of your blown setup, if you're up to it.

well, maybe they do not have the same blowers, but i think what he told me was that the M series nose pulleys are interchangeable and the rsx nose pulley is a smaller 3.2'. i may have heard that the d16y8 pulley is a tad larger, and i will look into it more.
and i decided awhile back, the only way i go nitrous is direct port. even then, it's iffy and unreliable. the reason i went boost is to have that power reliably.
the reason i decided JRSC is the lack of room, i have a very wide radiator for the crx. theres also no lag, fat tq curve, no psh psh..easier..cheaper..no FMIC..time to go to sleep.
i think im gonna set my sights on 170whp for the next tuning session. thanks for the responses. feel free to post more if you find more.

The M62 kit pulleys will fit your 45. Also going direct port nitrous with the JRSC manifold might be a challenge there simply not much room.

If know anyone in a machine shop, have them custom build you a pully.

The stube is in between the tb and the charger. I t really sucks and endyn can port that for you. They cut it in two then port it and weld it back. Its just another bottle neck! Did the B TB help a little when you installed it??

to clarify, only the d series and LS JR kits utilize M45 blowers. gsr, itr, K, use M62 blowers. i read about it today. not sure about the b16, probably a m62 also.

D series, LS, CRV, and the very first SIR units (small handfull) use the M45.
The remainder use the M62.

DOHC VTEC engines got the M62's. Everything else was an M45.

next question, can m62 blowers be interchanged with m45s(why or whynot)? even if i could, would it be beneficial? i already have the 3.2' m62 stock pulley from the rsx kit waiting to go on now, and the guy at moss motors said it will be 2-3 more psi. does that seem right?

Nope. Where the SC bolts to the IM are different sizes. You're pretty much stuck with the M45 without some heavy customization.

IT has been done but you have to make a custom intake manifold.

As people have said the blower dimensions are different. So it doesn't bolt up.
ENDYN built a kit for putting a M62 on a d series, but it is currently sold out. You can find it here:
http://www.theoldone.com/components/...er_systems.htm
I don't know any specifics about the kit, so don't ask...
The M62 will make about 38% more boost. re: 62/45
