my little brother has a 99civic vti(SI) and is running a JRSC stock boost.
his setup at the moment is.
cold air intake.
cat-back exhaust(test pipe coming soon)
colder plugs.
JR map controller.
JR thermostat
hondata IMG.
OBX fuel rail.
walbro 255l.
and is also running a civic type-r gearbox.
dynoed 187whp.
he can get 99Itr cams and valvetrain at a good deal. but is the overlap on them too much that they will hurt performance or can most of the overlap be dialed out with cam gears?
next step is
390cc dsm injectors.
cam gears.
alternator pulley to up the boost to approx 9psi.
and some sort of fuel management, I know itīs crappy but maybe just a v-afc.
the car was too low for the rollers, so we had to remove the front bumper in order for us to be able to get it in there.

06SI gears+final drive and lsd.( 1st and 2nd gear were bad, so all I could use was the lsd )

shouldnīt it be fine then to just run the stock intake and itr ex?
and I know this is asked alot, but where can I get my hands on a MVM alternator pulley?
I have searched, and maybe I am missing something but I havenīt found a decisive answer?

whynot invest in real dynotuning? your dohc is hardly making more power than my d series.
and a simple pulley upgrade will net you lots more power. fuck cams and alternator steppers. call JR for bigger crank pullies and smaller blower pullies.

There is nothing wrong with messing with your cams and a stepper pulley. For the B-series a stepper like Jim's is the first logical step to take I think. Smaller blower pulleys have a tendency to slip in the higher RPMs where as Jim's stepper is just larger on the part that goes from the alternator to the blower. As far as cams go the guy above said it right...you will get the most outta that cam combo on a DOHC VTEC engine. Many guys on HT swear by it.
Also...Ksniper is right on the dyno tuning part with a standalone...for the best power and relabilty it is a must. Standalone is not really that expensive after putting all that money into an engine.

werd. do you have to take down the blower to put in the stepper pulley? cause if it does not cause slippage and you dont have to remove the blower, it would be an awesome upgrade in combination with a larger B20 crank pulley. since my d series does not have the same alternator setup as the dohcs do, i am not elgible for the stepper upgrade.
you should have done this first, but if you're switching to any different cams it is absolutely imperative to get a dynotune. none of that vafc bullshit. not only will you make loads more power, but it will be much more reliable.
i didnt mean that cams are useless, but that IMO the money would be better spent on more boost and/or a dynotune. thanks for some clarification regarding pullies.
i would also skip the 290cc injectors. they arent much larger than stock and you will max them out quickly on boosted setups. go for larger RC injectors, or dsm 450s. ditch the aem FPR. sell the MAP controller. you dont need any aftermarket fuel rails, might as well sell the obx one. get a walbro fuel pump and dynotune.

thank you guys for the response.
we do have 390cc dsm injectors so we could use them.
we donīt have a aem fpr so Iīll just cross that off my list then.
switch back to the stock fuel rail?
we have a walbro fuel pump, forgot to mention that.
and also we are thinking about going to a local guy that has some sort of standalone(donīt know what brand) and he can also tune it for us. so we are thinking of doing it right.

Yeah....the stepper pulley replaces the pulley on the alternator on a B-series so all you have to do is pop the alternator and put the new pulley on and use a slightly longer belt from the alternator to the supercharger. It is about 160 direct from Jim and nets you about a 3 psi gain.
