Talking New JRSC owner d16y7 97 hatch dx

just installed my jrsc kit on my 97 dx hatch d16y7

runs OK, i will fine tune the fuel this week, plugs are showing signs of lean out

also using the jr map controller , did not use the lame relay.

i have a few questions.

Can i use my stock y7 crank pulley ? it looks a tad bit larger (more boost)

if so does anyone know what belt i need

and what kind of boost it would give,

Yes i SEARCHED 23 pages , and could not get any solid info.
.

Also my power on the low end seems low. it really likes to pickup on the topend and hit the revlimiter real fast. Any ideas? im thinking fueling right now.

Do you guys think it is worthwhile to replace the stock one peice exhaust manifold . cat combo hanging in front of the motor with a 4 -2 - 1 header?

It seems really restrictive to me.

Please give me any input.

Also can someone with my setup post some pics of how they did the throttle cable?

i just want to make sure i did it right. the instructions really sucked.

thanks

I would definitely recommend the 4-2-1 header for sure, but I'm not sure if you can use the OEM crank pulley... you could try it, but the spacing might be off, thus possibly leading to premature belt wear, or worse, belt slippage and/or breakage at higher boost levels. Not sure on the throttle cable either, but good job going for the map controller vs. that lame relay!

Y8 pulley is the largest D series pulley. forget the map controller. get real tuning.

Y8-Y7 same thing I have had both. If you are showing signs of leaning I would not go with the bigger pulley till you were ready to get some real inj and managment.
