Regarding map sensor..

guess I am the only one posting on here now a days... but yeah here is my question... right now I am basically running the base JRSC kit on my GSR so I have my timing set around 11 degrees and I am getting shitty gas milage.. well from what I heard after I install the JR Map sensor I would be able to advace the timming to be around 2 degrees of stock which is about 16... will this help bring my gas milage up?? also will it help me able able to advance the timing to around 14 degrees or so?? let me get some input on this.. thx>

Any time you increase your timing, you should get better gas mileage. I ran my engine at stock timing, 16 degrees, with the map controller. I'd suggest a dyno tune with a wideband O2 sensor to get your A/F ratios correct, to make sure there is no pinging, and to set your timing correctly.

Tad is an unknown quantity at this point
Well I don't see how ppl can tell exactly what their timing is..
I can only approximate from where the marks are lining up and such.

I think i have mine set at aroun 13,
and i'm running the map controller...

hmm, never thought I would get more mileage if I pushed it forward.
you get more power with advance timing too right?

oh well, personally i'm going to leave it as is,
not sure what i'm boosting at right now, I have two gauges.. one says 6 the other says 8.. so i'll wait till i get my boost upgrade and dynotune it

acutally there is a timming light that it can tell you what degrees you are at> also if you retard your timming then you'll get crappy gas and if you advance you should get better gas milage....yes you also get more power..
