I've seen and read a lot about the alternator stepper pulleys- Is there a reason why everyone likes those over the JR crank pulley?

The stepper pulley only spins the blower faster. The crank pulley spins the alternator faster which in turn spins the blower faster.

Right but is there a problem with that? I can see how you wouldn't want to underdrive your alternator but are there any long term effects of spinning it faster? belt slippage on the alt pulley?

I guess my real question is: if you had to pick between the jr blower pulley and the one for the crank which would you put on? both of them came with my kit and it doesn't make sense for me to spend more on another one right now.

I did some research so I'll answer my own question in hopes of contributing some helpful information: The JRSC crank pulley was machined out of a solid block of aluminum and though it is lighter than the stock crank pulley it was not engineered with a harmonic damper (read: will probably cause your crank bearings to wear faster). I'm pretty sure the same can be said for most billet underdrive pulleys. I'm opting for the blower pulley for now, lets see what this belt slipping is like.

There is a guy in the huge HT JRSC thread that has contacts to a guy that makes custom stepper pulleys...look in the last 2 pages or so...it is there
