Genocide in So Cal

Hey everyone,
Two of my friends are holding an info night about Darfur on Dec. 19th. For those who do not know what is going on, it's GENOCIDE. So in order to help them, I've decided to hold a Meet on Dec. 19th that is within close driving distance of where the event is at.

The Idea:
The main point of this meet is to promote the event about Darfur. The info night includes some food/snacks and drinks to my understanding, but it is mainly to spread information about what is going on in Darfur. I thought it will be great way to come together as a Community in response to what is happening in the Sudan.

The Plan:
Meet at or around Guppy's Tea House in Cerritos/Artesia area. Just as long as we aren't directly in front of the restaraunt, it's cool, but you can buy food and drinks if you want to. The time to meet will be at 5:00PM and we will leave to the event at or around 6:30PM.

Darfur:
It is really sad, what is going on in Darfur. And it's even more tragic that the world CHOOSES not to do anything about it. We merely sit down and watch the football game as actual GENOCIDE is currently taking place. This meet is not meant to replace any other meets that go on Tuesday night, but to ultimately provide support for those who are suffering. I urge everyone to come together this holiday season and help those who can't have a holiday season even if they wanted to. To capture a glimpse of what is currently going on; see below.

The Realities of Darfur:

In the following picture is 85-year-old Abu Hamid Omar.
Not only was he burned and branded in an attack by the Janjaweed
and Sudanese Government forces,
but his village was burned to the ground.
He was the ONLY villager to survive the persecutory assault.

Over 400,000 dead.
More Than 2.5 Million Homeless.
Widespread Famine & Malnutrition.

Wrong region. I'd move it for you but since the date has already passed I'm just going to close it.
