Dominican Republic
i'm guessing more of you guys have been here than Afghanistan. i went to the Dominican Republic in the summer of 2005 on behalf of yet another non-profit organization. i spent most of my time in a small mountain village named El Limón near Santiago. i also spent a few days in Santo Domingo but didn't have a chance to shoot much, unfortunately.
youd be surprised how popular a lot of things are. the market for sleeper products is huge since most states treat you like a jew in 1943 poland if youre a ricer

if you want to do something similar, i would suggest building up a portfolio of just stuff you see on a daily basis. the photos i take are just a documentation of somebody's everyday life and surroundings, after all. after you build up a good portfolio, then start taking it around to some organizations. start small and/or local unless you're extremely confident that the Red Cross will hire you on the spot

if you're talking about the warm-toned black and white photos, they were shot on kodak 400TX (iso 400) print film and scanned in with a Konica Minolta dimage scan IV.
