just took this pic, NEWB to photo

well i staged this all up and took the pic, i know its not clear, but im not familiar with the camera yet, and i was in auto mode, i just read the book on how to use manual focus so things are improving, just wondering if the composition itself is good? .....

I think you have a cool thing going for just starting out. My tips to you is try different angles, set it up and move around. You may find out lone angle looks a lot better than what you had in mind to begin with. Also mess around with different aperatures (f stops) and try and create focus on one thing and different depths. Hope I helped a little, good luck.

Well in most people's cases you will with a long lens, no matter what the camera, unless you have a lot of light for sports and such.

lol i cant change lenses all i have is a canon powershot fixed lense, great camera but it sucks cause i can get a perfect image in the viewfinder, but unless i have it on a tripod i cant get a clear shot..... maybe i should increase shutter speed for stills?
