Question LCD screen protection

So I just picked up a new Canon G9, and was wondering what people are using to protect their screens. This thing has a 3" screen and I just know it's begging to get scratched or something soon. I see that Delkin makes a sun-shade with a glass protector. The shade is removable which is great because all I want is the glass. But does anyone use those little sheets with any success or have another recommendation?

I have never used any of the consumer grade cannon products but in their prograde products I dont seem to have any problems with scratches. I have around 50k images that I have taken with my 1DMKIII and I don't have any scratcehs on the back lcd. I think they are tempered glass.

The little sheets that "protects" the LCD screen is there mainly to prevent fingerprints and other minor stuff from sticking/getting it dirty. I don't think I've ever seen any scratch on any of the LCD screen that I sell at work and people abuse the crap out of it. The only time that it get scratch really is if someone do it intentionally with a sharp hard object. But lets say if a sharp hard object is able to scratch the screen accidently, most likly it will cut through the cheap plastic cover.

So in short, if you are worried about dusk, dirt, finger prints and other stuff like that getting your camera dirty, buy the screen cover. If not, just keep the camera in a small carrying case when you are not using it.

Well if anyone wants to know, I went with the Delkin sun-shade/screen protector. The sun shade is worthless IMO, but the glass fits like a glove and is very thin, looks sharp too. And it was only like $11 shipped on ebay, worth every penny.
