Only thing I didn't like about the rebel was that you can't wear a hat while taking a pic with it, the flash kept popping up and hitting the bill of my hat and then gave me an error on the camera, so I had to either remove my hat or turn it backwards.

if you use the creative modes .. you decide whether or not to pop up the flash .. it wont pop up otherwise.

I pushed the button with the lightning symbol on the left side of the camera but it didn't do anything, I've only looked at a rebel xt while in staples, I have to pay off my laptop first before I can get another camera. My wife told me she'd get me one for my graduation from college next year, by then I might step up to a 20D instead.

Canon Rebel XT
Specs have been listed by previous people so I'll just do a review. I've had this camera for 2 months now and really enjoy it. Start up time is very fast 0.2 sec I believe. Burst shots are decent and it fits my had well. This comese in handy when you just have to capture that moment immedately.
Servo Auto focus comes in handy when the object is moving towards and away from you at a constant rate and does a good job. I like having the Av and Tv mode.
Tv is shutter speed priority so you can set it and Apperature is adjusted automatically. Av is just the opposite. There's also full manual but I haven't played around too much with that yet.
Only complaint is I wish I got a faster lense. I guess that's how they keep the cost down. Doesn't feel as solid as a 20D but that's cause it's made of plastic but it doesn't feel like a toy either. I don't find the custom white balance too useful but it's probably cause I don't know how to use it well yet.
This first one was shot during a cloudy day.
Macro shot but I zoomed out. No PS
ISO 100. Captured in Vivid mode.

i have a finepix s3100, and a finepix Asomething or other (point and shoot)
S3100
What you really need to know:
6x optical zoom
4MP
Shooting modes: Auto, manual, scene position (portrait, landscape, sports, night scene), movie
Review:
For what i wanted to do with the camera, it doesn't have enough features as I would have liked, but for a beginner, it's a excellent camera. I bought it to use as a designated picture taker at family gatherings, sporting events and such, and have the finepix A--whatever-- to take when going out and getting drunk/ partying (won't kill me if i lose it/break it).
For $250 it's a great digicam, now they sell for ~$180.
it is compatible with fuji's 1.5 tele-conversion lens out of the box, also can use various filters, fisheye lens, wideangle lens all available as well...

I bought a Canon Digital Rebel XT all black w/18-55mm kit lens for $832 shipped from buydig.com and so far it is working really good. I've taken over 700+ pics in the two days I have had it.

now that photohost is up, heres a couple of pics to show you (taken with the s3100)
this one is a 200 foot tall monument taken from ~300 yards from the base, also at a lower elevation, so it was ~250-275 feet tall from where i was standing. those are people at the top
full size pics can be seen in my gallery, + other pics.

Nikon N90s w/MB-10 veritcal grip
Nikon 35-80mm 4.5.6D lens
Nikon 16mm Fisheye
great camera, good lenses, but i'm looking to sell it for a Nikon D70 setup.
Know anyone looking for just a N90 body? I'll sell mine!
EDIT: I'm not going to sell the n90s, i'm keeping that but still buying a digi SLR, the Nikon D50, instead of the D70s.

I don't really care what camera/brand people use, it's all about the pictures. Use what's best for you.
