cutlery, 8" or 10" chef's knife?

i'm looking at Victorinox Forschner Fibrox knives, chef's in particular...

the 10" is $10 more @ $30 shipped, the 8" is $20 shipped...

is 10" too much? seems like most people have the 8", but i wouldn't mind payin a little more if the 10" can be used for more stuff that my 7" santoku can't already...

If you have a 7" Santoku (my most used / best knife) Then I would opt for the 10" Chef's knife, because a 7" Santoku can pretty much be a replacement for the 8" Chef's.

got dammit! i just bought the 8" on inpulse cus they had it on sale for $16 shipped...

aw well...nothing wrong with having alot of nice sharp blades i guess...i'll try it out and see if i really need bigger blades for other activities...if so, then i'll just pitch out the extra $28 or whatever for the 10"
