is fish supposed to be like this?

Like the meat is gray under the scales? Is it edible? I'm not experienced with seafood at all. Figured since I've by the ocean for about a year now I should get acquainted. This is on salmon btw.

no.. maybe you didn't get to the meat. Salmon should be pink. Cut deeper and see if you can see the meat.

yea, the layer underneath the scales sometimes looks grey, it aint bad tho
