SOCAL peeps, which ramen shop do you recommend?
Being from the Central Valley, we don't have ANY ramen places around here. The only thing we have are Pho places, but that can get boring at times. On occasions, I visit my older brother in Corona, and I've been wanting to try out real ramen for quite some time now. Any shops you recommend? Any style you prefer? I don't mind driving to OC, Alhambra/San Gabriel area. Thanks!!!

Hmmm... maybe try Ebisu or Shin Sen Gumi if you're in the OC.
If I recall correctly, Ebisu is more of a general type of eatery. They have many different styles of ramen (miso, shoyu, cha shu, etc.). Shin Sen Gumi is known for their Hakata style even if their HQ is in central Tokyo.

Yeah. It's on the ocean side of the 405. Not the inland side. As you're going to towaqrds the beach it'll be on your left.
Cailf. Shabu Shabu is in there too and used to be pretty good. But it's been a couple years since I've eaten there.
Just went to a kaiten sushi place yesterday for dinner. It was kinda fun.

Shin Sen Gumi?
There's mulitple locations in Torrance. On Western right off of the 405. Another at Carson/Western by another ramen place called Men Bei, and the one that's known for their ramen more then yakitori is on Redondo Beach Blvd. about a block W of Western kinda sorta near Gardena Honda, and in the same shopping center as Sushi Bei & SB Aquarium.

Thanks! I'll probably head out to this then since I'm more familiar with this area.

It'll look something like this when you buy it in a eatery.
Usually we'll buy it with a side of another dish like gyoza (pot sticker), karage chicken (fried chicken), etc.
