hey, my friend has a ek civic hatch with a supercharged b18c
it blows a fair bit of smoke and uses a sh*T load of oil/ the smoke probly bein the burnin oil.
its a vortech s/c
it has a oil filter re-alication kit w/ breather
the spark plugs i think have a fair bit of oil surrounding
cud someone plz suggest possible causes/ tests to perform?

has it been tuned properly? Mine was shooting out black smoke when i would punch it, but that was just b/c i was running rich and untuned. It might be that as well.

running i think 5 or 8 psi
but bad news the engine blew today when he hit boost in 1st gear >_<
can u suggest anything that may have led to it? smoke an early indicator?
it waz chewing a fair bit o oil but he toppd it up daily n hardly drove it...

Go tell your boy... Play in the street for being a complete and utter moron.. You dont drive around in a untuned car..specially something supercharged or turbo chargered.
I'll tell you what happened right now, he was running way too lean goin into boost thats what happened with probably too much timing.. its good for him, maybe he'll learn to take better care.

did it blow smoke at idle or crusing slow? blowing smoke cam be caused by a couple different things, bad rings or to much fuel, now if he ran lean when he kicked it yea that could make it pop, he should have known there was a problem when he was eating a lot of oil, for all ya know he had a blown gasket around the oil pan and was leaking, but it broke due to the fact it was simply unloved

Agreed.. Any serious engine modification should be followed by propper tuning. If you are not going to spend the time and money to do things properly don't even think about getting started.
