Civic type-r in the u.s next year?

I went today to get some spare keys made for my del sol at the
honda dealership. well while i was waiting around one of the guys
that works there, he took me outside to show me the new civic si
that was just sold to one of his family members so he popped it open
for me to check it out and stuff. anyways, while i was hanging out he
was telling me to keep an eye out because next year honda was going
to release the civic type-r for the first time here with 220 or 230 hp (i cant
remember which one he said)...i dont know how true it is but he said
it was a straight face and no blanking out/stuttering so maybe he might
not be full of shit. anyone know any truth behind this?

a prototype picture was on the cover of Honda Tuning I think it was, it was yellow, and in big letters it says HONDA SNUBS U.S. AGAIN! Leading me to believe they have no plans of bringing it here. Also heard a rumor that a CRX would be based on this new type R platform which I don't doubt because if you look close at the prototype picture it does resemble the current civic but is much smaller in width and lengh, Honda is pretty good about keeping secrets 'till the last minute so who knows whats to come

considering the dismal response the EP3 got, I hardly imagine Honda will bring the Type R over given the fact that it will be based on the 3-door platform..

They won't bring it over for financial reasons. It will murder their sale of the civic SI's so to maximize profits they won't release it.
