type-r engine internal performance?

hey i have a 2000 acura integra type r. i have purchased a aem cold air intake. and need more stuff but i was wondering how much more power i could get from port and polishing, pistons, lifters, ect. basically rebuilding the internal engine. like i've seen on the spoon site.spoon internals

Your head is already ported and polished from the factory.


Unless you want to run an insane amount of boost, or lots of NO2 your stock pistons are fine.

Swap the cams, and get a lighter flywheel.

Barely. The work done by the factory on the ITR heads is minor. Nothing like a full P&P by a good company (Portflow, BCE, etc.)

look into valve train dynamics
buy a hytech header
carsoud cat
a nice 2.50 exhaust
for starters.

get it breathing a bit better for starters

ITR#144 is an unknown quantity at this point
if his gonna go all motor i think its best if he gets a 2.5" exhaust.
besides the stock one is 2.25" already(with a few bottle necks) so another 2.25" will not be that much of a difference.
