Hondata ECU?

I was looking at getting a hondata ECU system for my R because I hear that on a lot of cars it does nice and gives some good power across the boards. I was just curious what model is recommended for a mild street set up with simple bolt ons? I did a search function in the R section and didn't come across any good topics on it, so if anyone has some input on the hondata systems or recomendations they good give me some help.

Thanks.
C.

I think you're talking about the s200 program. There is a lot of variations in the program and a dealer should tune it for you. As for gains on your motor and bolt ons, you should receive similar results with a chipped p28 and vafc with tuning.

Hondata is pretty good with aftermarket cams or turbo applications.

for NA you7 should be set with a simple s100 set up. it will make good gains if its tuned correctly.

Well I'll let you know about my '00 Type R with Hondata. I got the s200 because I planned to do others things to my car. I have just the basic setup with bolt on stuff, i.e headers, intake exhuast, cat. My car is obd2b so i had to get a p28 ecu and obd2b to obd1 jumper harness. My car has been dyno tuned with spec specifically for my car. I get better gains throughout the entire power band. The most notable is a bit more low end torque but the top end feels the same but gains more power. I would recommend hondata if you plan on doing more crazy stuff to your car because you have a lot of option you can add. afterall your mods which ever they may be, you just have to take it back and have the car dyno'd again for the new major upgrades, i.e boosted, cams, and so forth. I hope all this helps. If you have any question you can ask me about my car.

So if you wanna run a Hondata S200 ECU, you also need to get a P28 ECU and a OBD2 -> OBD1 Conversion Harness?

if you're obd2, yes. hondata only works with obd1.
