I've had the Non-HID's on my JDM front end and finally got a good deal on a set of HID's (800!!!). Now my question is, are they just plug and play? There's five wires coming off the headlights: black, red/white, red/blue, red/black, red/yellow. To which wires do I connect these to? Any pictures or diagrams would be greatly appreciated.

heres a picture of the wires coming off the headlamp

On the non HID headlights, you said there are 4 pins on the plug (foglight, city light, high beam and ground) and on the HID ones, theres 5 (same as before and ALSO an HID pin), so do I just connect the regular halogen 9006 wire from my car onto that 5th 'HID' pin (red/white wire), splice everything else, change out the fuse and I'm good to go? Let me know. Can't wait to put these mothers on. Thanks.

yes, just use the 9006 wire to power the HIDs, ground it, and ur good to go. the only time that u need to change ur fuse is when u wire the fog lights to the 9006 wire also.
if ur going to use a separate harness for the foglights then that harness has all the necessary wires, relays, and fuses...no need change the fuse underneath ur car's dash.
Is taking off my bumper gonna be a pain in the ass to get my lights off?
Oh and one more question. On JDM Type Rs, are the corner lamps ALWAYS on or are they off and on ONLY when blinking. I don't like having that yellowish light in the same housing as an HID lamp "look". Looks like crap.

taking the bumper off is relatively easy. it's very straight-forward -- unscrew the nuts/screws, and carefully take the bumper off.
the corner lamps. the bulbs are always lit when u turn the headlights on. they also blink when u activate ur turn signals. this is possible since the corner bulbs have 2 filaments -- one that stays on all the time and one for the blinkers.
if u don't like the amber (or yellow) bulbs, just switch em out for plain ones.
Thanks. What I was really trying to get at was CAN I have my corners only turn on when I signal? I have hyper whites in them right now and it still looks yellow compared to my piaa platinums. I can't imagine how its gonna look next to the HIDs.
Do you remember watching the best motoring vol. 1 and they had the Type R rolling with its lights on, it didn't have its corners on so thats why I was wondering if JDM type rs only blink their corners.
I'll try to find a night picture of a JDM r, but i couldn't sworn i've never seen one with its corners always on.
slapped my HIDs on yesterday. I'll try to get pics up. IT IS WELL WORTH THE MONEY PUTTING ON OEM HID'S, I can't say that enough. I wanted to let you know that on the OEM HID's there is only 2 wires that come off the corner lamps (versus 3 on non-hid headlamps). Green, for ONLY turn 'signaling' and black for ground. The non-HIDs had red for continous power AND signaling plus ground. OEM HIDs only blink their corners. ANYWAY, they are so awesome, I will definatly get some pics up soon.
I am currently having some problems with my HIDs as of today. As of now, about 4 seconds after I turn them on, only my left hids turn off. Is that a fuse problem? I was thinking if it was, they would'nt turn on in the first place after I blow them out, but I've turned them on and off about 20 times already and they ALWAYS turn on for more than 4 seconds sometimes maybe longer. What could be the problem? If its a fuse problem, what amp fuse should I get?
I have a set of non-HIDs now. perfect condition if anyone wants to make an offer.
Hey DVS congrats on the OEM HID lights..quick ques. what year is your teg...i.e. 98+ or 94-97...because i have a 94 and it has the big abs motor...and i was wondering if you had the same year..what did u do....to get em to fit....
This is what happens, about 4 seconds after I turn on my lights my left beam just shuts off. On HIDs befure they've warmed up, they're very blue and they 'turn' to white after a couple seconds. Its right at that point where you see it change to superwhite that my left beam just shuts off. At first I thought it was a fuse problem and yesterday when I checked it they were still good. After that I even wired up my foglights to the 9006 wire to see if power was just cutting off somewhere and power checked good, it never cut off. Its the ballast that went to sht on my left headlamp. When I first installed them, they were running great for two hours. I went to sleep, woke up the next morning and while I was driving to work, I see my left beam just turn off while I was on the freeway (not bumpy). So anyway right now my heart is aching and I have to mourn for these HIDs. In a couple days, I'm gonna re-install my NON-HIDS back if I don't find out exactly whats wrong and if i cana't fix it. I'll post a pic of a "before the 4 seconds" and "after the four seconds" picture. Anyone have this problem before on OEM HIDs or aftermarket HID kits? Sound like a ballast problem to you? Is there a REPLACEMENT for ITR HID ballasts if they break? Let me know
I have an 00 ITR and I only had a minor problem installing them. On the driver side I had to bend one of my AC lines to fit the whole ballast in. No problem with ABS though.
