different power curve i guess. There's few people here that have posted the specs. Go to the TYPE R thread.

pointlessly high redlines on street cars are gay.

Thats untrue if the redline is higher its probably because the engine makes more power up high. I also believe that instead of a 4.4 final drive its a 4.7

What would be the difference if it made more power lets say 7000 redline.

plus one year has the 4-1 itr header vs the 4-2-1 header and the final drives are 4.4(96 spec) vs 4.7(98+ spec)

what i meant to say was if the engine is still making power at 8100 they would not stop so they move the redline to where the engine starts losing power. anyway i think that the redline is still 8100 on the 98+ spec engines.

So which one would you choose considering they have a diffe power curve?

depends if i have the money i would go with the 98+ just because it probably has less miles and i really dont know the difference between the power curves.

do you read before you post? i said pointlessly high redlines are stupid on street cars. so if you can't make your power till 9K rpms then you need a bigger motor. and it's not peak power that's special it's power band. why do you think hondas have such high hp and slow 1/4 mile times?

do you want stronger midrange or a more peaky car. answer that and you will know which one you want. i honesly like the gsr better for a daily driver, if you want a track car for pure fwd performance go with car that will give you the strongest powerband for your driving style. the jdm one lets you live in the upper rpms more

For daily driven I'll take the one with good midrange power for me no point getting power in peak power for daily driven. But for me I'll take the one in high Rpm on the track depending on the circuit layout too IMO. I dunno what engines which.
