my black Fit sport a/t

:w00t

Nifty things:
The "sport manual mode" with the paddle shifters is neat. I dunno how useful it is... but it's neat!
The rear folding seats are awesome.
The fog lights really brighten around the front, left and right of the vehicle.
Can turn on just the tails and front orange markers (and no headlights).
MP3/WMA cd player (haven't tried it yet though, but I will).
Stereo can be set to increase volume when the car is moving automatically.

Nitpicks:
Can't see hood! Makes for nervous garage parking...
No left footrest -- gotta figure something out here...
Clock display is on the "far" side of the radio display (Jap holdover?)
I miss auto-doorlocking when the car moves like my Jetta.

Concerns that weren't:
No seat height adjustment or wheel telescope, but I matched up fine.
Surprisingly peppy for 1.5L (I'm coming from a VR6, so...)

Recommendations:
I popped out the rear headrests for better visibility, and put them behind the seat.
Get the rubberized floormats.

edit: oh yeah, the black paint has blue metallic flakes in it!!! Weird!! Look realllly closely... (in person of course)

Congratulatuons with your new car. It's nice to hear that Honda now has a black paint with blue flake in it. I thought only the new WRX had that. It is called Nighthawk Black, however, and is the same black used on the old Integra.

Haha, looking at my own photo again, it has the same "problem" as
my Jetta... the backside of that rearview mirror should be black.

edit: d'oh! it IS black in the Fit.. deceiving photo!

Nice, I hope to get on Blue/White one next year when I graduate from NIU. Planning on modding it at all?

I was thinking of some mild window tint, and maybe an aftermarket sunroof,
if I found a convincingly pro installer.

What mods are popular?

My pal just bought a Mazda3 (another vehicle I was interested in). We met
over lunch today and checked out our new rides. I really wasn't that
impressed with the more expensive Mazda3. I liked its tray over the spare
tire, and the deep glovebox, and better placement of the window controls
on the driver's door. When folding the rear seats down, I think the Fit
kills it in usable space -- I was surprised.

Just stay away from the base model. Fit Sport has what you want.

A Civic gets the same mileage, looks alot better, and has more power.

That's interesting, do you remember where the reviews were from?

I ask because I want to buy a Fit this summer, after I graduate college and finish summer school. I was planning on the Sport with a manual.

Also, the local Honda dealer that actually updates their inventory online only shows automatic versions of the Fit Sport. Either they arent shipping the manual Sport or they aren't ordering them.

My first test drive in Modesto was a Manual Black Sport. I
liked it! But I can't own a manual due to my left knee and
all the traffic I endure. I didn't drive it enough to draw any
conclusions though, my apology. Just drive both, and see
if you like one or the other, really.

I think the a/t has lower rpms in 5th gear than the manual?

I can't believe that the non-Sport model lacks mp3/wma
support... that has to cost them extra to maintain
two stocks of otherwise identical radios! And you know it's
just some bit in the headunit software...
