Review: Thermal R&D Classic Cat Back Exhaust
Well where to start...this exhaust is quite simply amazing. It is a 2.5" system made of all stainless that looks great and makes power. Now for the main selling point of most exhaust, how does it sound? Excellent. The tone is deep and very mellow. When just cruising I can hardly even tell that it is there. Even when I really get on it it gets louder but I can actually here more turbo spool and engine scream then I can the exhaust. As far as tone goes, it takes the world sport on my friends teg without a problem. Amazing considering mine has the N1 style canister which is usually very loud. I drove around without the axel back section for a little bit and it sounded great without a muffler so my guess is the resonator is the key to the sound of this exhaust. Anyways, if you're looking for a new exhaust definetly check out thermal R&D...it will not disappoint you. You can even get it from our sponser www.streetrays.com at a great price. Under $500!

Don't forget that a turbo makes the exhaust quieter. Someone who sticks this on a N/A setup may go deaf.

That's my Accord...the sound is easily mistaken for a V6...very smooth and deep. Even high RPM's sound great, no change in the quality of the sound. I'd say that Thermal makes one of the best exhausts out there.

I will try and get one...though all I have for video is a regular digital camera with MPEG capability. I will do an idle, cruising and high rpm fly by and see how it works out.

I'll try and get a clip, but it only gets loud when I really want it to (full throttle).

I have the same exhaust on my car and as blazin said it isnt loud at all, just a nice deep rumble, i have an aem v2 and after 2500 rpms you cant really hear the exhaust, also my brother has driven my car past me several times and it is deff quieter (sp?) then when i am sitting in my car. plus it's been on my car for almost 2 years and the sound seems to have stayed about the same.

My friend has a 2000 Si and he had to get a new exhaust because his started getting louder after like 2 years or so. He ended up just getting the same exact one and selling his louder one to some ricer in Houston. He realized after he did all this that all he had to do was send it in to Thermal R&D and they would fix (or replace) it for free. Apparently it was a design flaw that they have since fixed. His is not loud at all and quite deep. I like it. Remember, there are different versions of this catback, and I'm not quite sure which one he has but I know there is a louder, more straight through one that they make.

Well i just know that the thermal R&D's are always very loud unless your turboed. Turbos will turn a loud ass exhaust into a quiet exhaust you'd be extremely surprised.
