Did you have shocks before. Thats probably the reason for not bouncing anymore. Try the H&R again with the shocks...you might really like it.

^^ what he said. I find H&Rs(sports) to ride really nicely. I prefer them over Eibachs(never ridden on a Neuspeed setup) and I've been in various setups with both KYB AGXs, Konis, and Illuminas. The only set of Skunks I've ridden on were harsh and bouncy and they were on KYBs(Integra LS).

Yeah I normally hear these add-on coil-over setups dont normally perform as good as a full coil-over or spring and shock combo.

I too have the Skunk2 coilovers with Tokico struts, and the ride is great. Before I bought them, I read how a lot of people on this forum don't like the coilover sleeves. I don't see what the problem is, as long as the struts and sleeves are good quality.

I'm with him. I wanted a true coilover but my buget wouldn't allow it.
but I am really satisfied with the skunk2. they don't ride as stiff as the h&r's that were on my car when I got it. I did change the shocks, however when I had the h&r's I had stock rims and after I installed the skunk2 sleeves I put on 18" rims. And it was still a smoother ride not as harsh with 18's!!!!
depends on which h&r springs and which setting you have on the illumnias or agx's. I think h&r and neuspeed are really similar, the race springs for both h&r and neuspeed have springrates that are pretty high. The skunk springrates are also comparable to the springrates that you get from the race springs. Unless you have the koni yellow's, i think the springrates for the race springs and the skunks are too high for the shocks, or maybe the agx's and the illumnia's can take them, but barely. this makes a buncy ride, but i'm not sure as i have only see a couple figures for several cars and every car is different.
I used to have a set of Skunk2 coilovers on my 89 CRX Si. These springs have a HIGH spring rate, and are very stiff. If you like to take corners, this can be very dangerous if you have not also upgraded your struts. I highly recommend upgrading to some quality adjustable struts to go along with these coilovers!! I recomend tokico illumina

I have the AGX adjustables in the front and back with (the shittyist springs ever) Maxspeed coilovers. The spring rate must be insane. I cant take them any more, so im looking into the Skunk 2 coil overs. First how do the sleves fit over the shocks? The Maxspeeds are totally discraceful, there is a huge gap between the sleves and the shock, and they rattle.
And 2nd questions if anyone knows. What is the spring rate on the Skunks, and what is the rate on the Maxspeed. I need to make sure I never get anything close to what the Maxspeeds are.
Thanks,
Matt

I was running Matrix Coilover sleeves. Those things are STIFF AS HELL and they are rated 450 front, 350 rear. My friend who was running Skunk2 coilover sleeves had an even STIFFER ride. I would assume they are around the 600 range front, 450 range rear.
In all honesty, the idea of height adjustability is cool and all, but after I had my height dialed in (same drop I would have gotten by some H&R's or Eibach's), I never touched it again, for two years.

I'm not 100% sure on this but here goes again...........
Many of these coilover "sleeves" are made by the same company but sent to customers like skunk2, maxspeed, tenzo, weapon R, ect ect. They are design to have a extremely high spring rate because they know that people will drop it low to the max and the car will bottom out if the spring flexes too much. These big manufactoring companies just paint the springs different colors and put different logos on them.
Now for my personal experience with Skunk2 coilover sleevs with tokiko "blues"..........well let just say that I got a huge dent on my roof from my head hitting everytime I go over a bump. This setup was the worse ever, could take it anymore in my CRX so I sold the dam thing. Handle good since it's so stiff but just too dam uncomfterable. I'm not sure if it's the skunk2 or the tokicos blues but that combo suck a$$.
Now ground contol I've experience and seem to have a better ride than any other spring sleever collar so called coilover.

did you have the car align?
well i'm dealing with skunk2 cambers myself, but with kyb agx 4pt/h&r's
so far so good, the car rides a lot better then it did on stock suspension.
skunk2 cambers are negative.
depending on the shock/spring combo, the effect of the cambers will vary.

The Skunk2 coilovers are not too harsh and yes upgrading to a performance shock does wonders. I have the Koni yellows and the combo seems to be pretty comfortable but yet sporty.
I used the skunk2 coilovers on two of my previous cars; one with tokico adjustables and the other with stock shocks. Both cars were lowered about 3" and I found the ride a little stiff but probably due to the amount of lowering. I now have a set of H&R sport springs with Koni Yellows and the ride is great.
