Problem.. my friend has the zex smart kit, 55 shot with remote bottle opener, bottle warmer, 1 step colder plugs, and an AUTO civic ex. Would it be wise to hook up a window switch as well so the nitrous would stop spraying right before the shift point? If we dont use a window switch can the stock auto tranny blow on him while its spraying and it shifts? Helpul comments welcome..

its an rpm activated switch that helps you control when your spraying.. so you can set the rpm you start at and the one you end at.. this helps us so that were not spraying through shifts
well at summitracing.com its like 60 dollars.. but i bidded on one at ebay and right now its at like 16.00.. i think its reccomended.. im gettin just so my tranny doesnt go theu anymore pain then it has too..
If you have an auto and a window shift, wouldn't the nitrous still spray as it is shifting gears? For example, if you set the switch to come on at 3000 rpm and turn off at 6100 rpm, wouldn't it spray as soon as it reaches at an rpm lower than 6100? Since autos don't shift immediately unless manuals, the nitrous would be engaged during the middle of the transmission shifting and the dropping of RPMS. Wouldn't that be true? :

when you mash the pedal (WOT) on an auto tranny usually always shifts right before redline, lets say its 6200rpm.
so let say u set the pills to engage at like 3000rpm and disengage at 6000rpm. u mash the pedal hit 3000rpm the solenoids engage, gets up to 6000rpm solenoids disengage, around 6100-6200 the auto tranny shifts, solenoids are still off at this point, now your in the next gear, u hit 3000rpm solenoids
engages..... and u start all over again.
Hey we installed the kit yesterday.. just the Zex smart kit, plugs, bottle warmer, remote bottle opener, and NOS pressure gauge. We dont have the window switch because he wanted to see how the tranny would react. Well it pulls better than before but when it shifts it "kinda" lags. Like it wouldnt shift gears as quick as it would when going wot without the nitrous. Im guessing theres a little too much power for the engine/auto tranny.
Im wondering if we buy the switch and install it and have it cut off around 250-500 rpm before redline would it shift quicker? At wot the nitrous keeps spraying right even when the auto is shifting? And hmm.. would flipping the switch off before the shift point and turning it on after the shift be just like a window switch? Would that do any harm or cause bad stress on the solenoid? Thanks for the helpful replies, keep em coming!

But the thing is that when it shifts at 6200 rpms, the rpms drop from 6200 to lets say...3800 rpms. It does not immediately start again at 3800 rpms since the tranny does not immediately grab unlike manual cars. The rpms will go from 6800 to 6000 to 5000 to 4000 to 3800. As soon as it gets under 6100 (assuming you have the 6100 rpm pill) it will start spraying meaning that it will spray before 2nd gear or 3rd gear actually engages. I am just making an educated assumption on this. Anyone with an auto and the switch want to shed some light on this?
