B18C-EG4 is an unknown quantity at this point
B18C build on Nitrous??

i have a B18C with P30 B16 piston, (i think that takes the compression to about 11.8:1 or so) and ITBs (not yet installed). i want to add a shot and cams to my build to add to extra ponies. The cams i am thinking about are the Buddy Club Spec 4 or the Skunk 2 pro 2.

For management i am planning to purchase the Hondata S300 the end of the month.

I have been reading through a few nitrous post here and see that the guys say to get a MSD 6 or 7 and a Walbro 255 pump.

For the nitrous i am thinking about getting the NX Nozzle kit or a NOS direct port. Direct port since i have the ITBs to put on soon.

Is the NX nozzle kit any good?
What size shot do you think i can run on this compression?
What about the cams? are they a good buy for this setup?
is the MSD totally necessary or will the S300 do a good enough job?
Any other things that i would need to ensure an extra ounce of life once i add the spray ?

First off, those cams have a lot of overlap and duration..so you're not going to get full use out of the nitrous...I would go direct port over the nozzle kits personally. NX and NOS are both great companies and produce great kits. From what I have read and heard, the NX silinoids are better, but after 6 years of nitrous use I have never had a problem with NOS silinoids...ignition wise, the msd digital 6 is a great buy...it has the two step for launch control, high end rev limit, and a nitrous retard function so when you're off the bottle you have good timing advance for all motor and as soon as you hit the ntirous it will retard ignition timing as far as you have it set. A good ignition is mandatory when you are wanting to push nitrous, on top of an already built motor. It will guarentee that you have enough of a spark to light everything in the cylinder. the hondata system is jsut fuel/ timing control. The walbro 255 pump is that way to go there. As far as what shot to run, its going to be one of those where you need to start low and work your way up. You are dealing with pistons that wernt meant to take that kind of cylinder pressure. If the rings are new and i good shape, you can push it, but it wont hold for long. I would say a 50-60 shot to be safe. More then that, on that compression, with those pistons, you are asking for it.

a good and easy rule to remember with spraying, If you dont have the money for a new motor, then dont spray it. If your so worryed spray it on a dyno with af readings and go from there... like he said above start low and see what you can work up to. Its not the nos that blows a engine... its poor tunning or knowing what your doing and looking for.

nos makes you think like a crackhead tho..... you'll always want more and more
