Building h22a4 Help me decide parts

First off Id like to do this with under 2000.00, and I dont want to up the nitrous:

2001 prelude Sh with aem cai, dry zex 55 shot, and colder plugs. I ran a 14.553 a 95.97. What do you guys think I need to get in 13's while staying reliable. I dont want to up the shot of nitrous. I was thinking cam gears -Skunk2/aem or what brand? pullleys - Aem or what brand? header- what brand? and a exhaust- what brand? Do you guys think that that will be enough for high 13's? possibly an ecu too. Im trying to stay around the 2000 mark. Please offer possible setups, what you think would be the best. Thanks guys, hope you help

Please list a setup which you think will be sufficient, mid 13's are my eventual goal, but I have to break out of the 14's barrier first

header, exhaust, no cam gears unless you are going to buy aftermarket cams (like a set of type s cams, nothing too radical), drag radials...if you are a decent driver that will get you really close or dip into the 13's.........what was your 60 ft. time when you ran the 14.55.

2.3....was the 60 ft. why no cam gears unless I get cams? Do they only work if you do them both? What about skunk2 stage 1's and skunk2 cam gears? would those be good with my setup. Or crower cams or just type s? How much is installation on cams?

Eagle H beam rods-$350
JE, Endyn or Weisco pistons w/ rings, pins, locks-$450-500
OEM bearings-$150-200
Ferrea valves-$250-300, SS all 16
Portflow valvesprings, all 16 inners-$80/or $180 for all 32
HG-$80-100
misc. gaskets etc.-$100
timing belt and pumps-$275
cam gears (if don't have these now)-$200-250
cams (typeS are nice, but Skunk2's are even nicer)-$600-700

the H22A block sleeves aren't compatible with most forged pistons, so you should get it resleeved--$800-1000.

so about $2500 without sleeving. that's just internal parts, OEM and aftermarket. i don't know the H22A parts prices from Honda so i was going by the B series parts amounts that i know of. some of the item amounts listed may be more or less.

with the resleeving you could overbore to get close to 2.4L which would increase performance throughout the entire powerband.

also with all this done to the motor you could increase your injection to 100 or 125 (or higher) easily if desired. the internals will hold up.

you don't really need the cams if you want to save $$ now. the larger displacement + 11-11.5:1 C/R pistons will be plenty for performance. if you want some tuning go with Hondata and a bit larger injectors, and a fuel pump if going with large injections of N2O.

why build it if you aren't going to increase the shot? I would say dp 80 shot, upgrade clutch, and then the bolt-ons you mentioned.

You won't be able to tune the computer unless you get a stand alone computer because of the car being OBD II

unless an OBD1 ECU is used with a convertor harness, along with Hondata which isn't expensive.

this guy was only looking to spend $2000....this list plus the price of install is going to be over $5000.

drop that 60 ft. to a 2.1 and you'll be closer to a 13 than you think

well if you want aftermarket pistons (if you don't use the typeS) then resleeving is needed so it's gonna up the price by close to 1G. drop the cams and some other stuff that you can get away with and the price is still more than 2K but if you're gona build a motor then build it right. spend the extra $$.

or don't rebuild the motor and increase the N2O injection, increase the HP via bolt-ons and tune it well.

if you're gona tear the motor down then do everything.
