well ive looked around over turbo and nitrous and decided that nitrous would be cheaper and easier. i want to make this build the cheapest i could. i have a friend who can get me a nos kit for around $250-$300. well everyone says nitous responds better with high cr. and i thought that this kit would be o.k. then just use my stock rods.
if you're trying to go cheap, why change internals at all?
If you just replace the piston rings on your stock pistons, then you should be able to safely run a 50 shot of nitrous.
Check the condition of your motor before you do anything. Mileage is not always a good indicator, but higher miles would generally give you an idea. Either way, you need to run a compression/leakdown test before doing anything. If your results for all cylinders are within spec, then you can probably get away with running a 50 shot safely with just a set of colder plugs.
Read through the FAQs right here on the board before you go wasting your money on internal work... yeah, it might be a good idea to get the piston rings changed and the valves checked before running nitrous, just to be sure you don't pop anything. But either way, a good ignition system and good fuel delivery are much more important than internal build. If you take care of the ignition and fuel systems first, you shouldn't have internal problems.

well im pushing a 170,000 miles and thouhgt doing all that would make it that much safer but i guess if i replacing my rings a running a comp test would be alought easier and safer

dont spray unless you have the $$ to buy another motor incase yours blows. Thats my moto. If you have $$ for another money just spray it, and if it blows up... you know it blows up. not very good advice, but you know.. whatever. lol.
