engine built for nitrous oxide

i have a D16Z6 that i'm going to fit nitrous to but i've heard the d16 bottom end is weak. what would be the best rods, pistons to use.
someone said something about B18 rod being good, is this true.

i already have my eye on a zex cam, any good

Who ever makes afftermarket pistons and rods for the D series motor I would go with. I think JE makes pistons and Eagle makes rods. But Im not sure if you can get those in Jolly Ol' England. And a B18 Rod wont work in your motor, you have a D series and it is a B series part, parts are not interchangable between series.

you can pick up the B18B or B17A rods and use them since they're are 137mm in length. i've never fitted the Teg rods into the D16Z6 but i've heard that they need to be machined a bit on one end to fit. i'm guessing it's the piston journal end but don't know for sure.

you could go with the B series rods and aftermarket forged pistons for a nice setup to handle N2O, and it wouldn't cost too much. but some forged pistons aren't recommended to be used with OEM rods. you could also bump up the C/R just a little via pistons to increase the N/A and N2O power output.

if you've ever compared the D16 rod to the B18B/C or B16A and B17A, you'll notice how puny the D series rods are from the factory. using the B18B rods is a good idea if you don't have much $$ to blow on Eagle rods or the like. or you may be able to find a really good deal on a package of rods, pistons, locks, pins and rings.

the stock valves should be fine with 50-75 shot, unless the mixture isn't good and the motor runs lean.

BTW sorry for the late response. i don't come on here like i used to since i sold my N2O system and moved on.
