I was just wondering how much of a difference the stock exhaust would differ from an aftermarket 2.5-3 inch catback and by how much would i gain if i replace the exhaust? Or would it do nothing and just make the car alittle louder? LoL thanks

I wouldnt waist yous money on an exhaust unless yous have an header and an hi-flow cat already installed. yous might get 1-2 hp to the wheels. Its not worth it

You dont want bigger than a 2.5 on your car unless you are going with turbo..You lose a lot of scavanging ability when you go that big. Because as the pulses exit the motor, the air slows down a lot because of the size of the pipe...now, too small will restrict airflow. You need to find that happy medium. 2.25 is your best bet on your motor...if you were on a dual cam and pulling a lot of revs I would say that 2.5 would be fine. If you open up the exhaust you are going to help the motor breathe better, especially on the bottle. As far as power figures, its going to vary a lot...a header and an exhaust would be a good investment. Just know ahead of time, that using nitrous on any of the headers on the market voids the warranty on them. I wouldnt fear though. I have tried DC sports and Airmass headers and never had a problem with nitrous damaging them.

I didn't know headers or header came with a warranty. I have never seen what nitrous can do to a header either. I guess besides cracking or something of that sort, what can happen to one?

They all have a warranty that states that basically if the header cracks because of a defect, they will replace it..but if you use nitrous on them, its creating a hotter exhaust and therefore more prone to cracking...they say the same with header wrap..because if it is wrapped incorrectly, it will create a hot spot and blow a hole in it. As far as I know, cracking would be the only real logical effect of nitrous use...

any rough est. on how much hp i will gain from a larger exhaust setup 5-10hp maybe more maybe less? Or should i not waste money on that and just beef up the internals and go w/a bigger shot ?? This is my dd so i just want alittle more hp out of the little D.

start witht he bolt ons...because qwhen you go with internals, you will need thoe bolt ons to maximize what you did..afterwards you can dive into the internals...but seeming that its your DD, you dont need to be taking the downtime to beef up the internals

in response to the rep I got...backpressure is what helps create the scavanging effect..so you do need it..but there is a delicate balance between too much and too little..and that varies greatly between nitrous cars, turbo cars, and all motor cars..you need mroe of it in turbo cars
