Question First Time Running The Nitrous(problem please help)

Heres my setup...00 prelude type sh, aem cai, one step colder plugs...OK, i had the 35 shot jets in for the first time...The bottle was still pretty cold, so bottle pressure might have been low...So i turn the bottle on and about 40mph in second i flipped the switch i didnt feel anything. Then all of a sudden the engine kinda hit like a fuel cutoff then it was gone. Didnt feel any pull from the nitrous what so ever...So i stop and check the bottle made sure that i turned it on...Tried it again at the same speed and i felt a little pull, the way its suppose to feel...What i want to know is if i damaged anything when i first did it....Was that detonation or could it have been an air pocket or just not any nitrous at all...O one more thing...Is it possible that i could have skipped a tooth on the timing

Dont have a nitrous pressure gauge...Getting one today though...It was pretty cold lastnight so id say it was pretty low...Imma pull the plugs today see how they look and replace them.

if the bottle pressure was really low then you won't feel much of anything, especially with a 35 shot. if you're running a wet kit (which you're prolly not) and using low bottle pressure, the system will be injecting too much fuel compared to the amount of N2O. a bottle heater and gauge is a good idea. also checking your plugs, like you said you were gonna do, is a good idea. that can tell you what your mixture is like.

i'm sure the motor is fine though. just take a look at the plugs.

BTW what Z28 said is true. i ran 100-125 shot on my motor last year and when i installed the 75 shot jets to try them out, they felt really slow but were working correctly. and after you get used to the higher injections, even they feel slow. but the bottle pressure makes a lot of difference.

the first time you tried it the lines were probably still filled with air, so you just bogged down.... just my guess.
