K24a4 turbo-nitrous
Hey folks. By August I'm planning on having the kit shown below installed and tuned on my stock K24a4. I'll have a stage 3 clutch with a high flowing exhaust as well. Once the turbo is finished, would it be safe to run a dry kit? I don't want to jet anything over 50hp: double power adders compound themselves quickly.
Racing Technology Co -
I searched and read a few threads on forced induction with nitrous, but I'm looking for something that's more specific to my application. Thanks for your input.

in simple terms..no..your motor isnt built for that..the compression is high already..adding bosot and nitrous on top of that..you're asking for a new motor

It's all in the tune guys and girls. If he is using the spray for a zero lag kit - Why not? Safe AND effective. If he is using it on top of the turbo for more power up top = THen I would have to ask why? It is som much easier to turn up the boost and do some more tuning.

why not? its a simple thing called cylinder pressure..a good tune is mandatory yes..but the best tune in the world wont let you throw that much cylinder pressure into that motor the way it sits

With a ZERO LAG kit it cuts the nitrous off when boost is present. Is sprays till there is positive pressure in the manifold then it shuts the spray down. What cylinder pressure you talking about? The boost and the spray aren't sharing the cylinder at the same time. And I have seen QUITE A FEW Turbo setups WITH SPRAY ON TOP. DO they work - YES. Would I do it? I have. But to me it is MUCH easier to just up the boost controller and then retune with boost. With elevated cylinder pressures the tune has to be more precise. But it can be done and it is being done.

Thanks for the input. I've been researching intercooler spray bar kits; seems to be much safer and easier...Edelbrock, NOS, NX, and CryO2 all have their own designs. Does anyone have any thoughts, stories, etc on this style of "nitrous?"

It's not a different style of nitrous. The nitrous we refer to is injected into the engine as a means to add more oxygen content to what is being consumed by the motor. Just simply spraying a gas - not only nitrous but just a liquified gas onto somthing to use the resulting process to cool the object to further cool intake charge is a different matter all together. Your not using the gas that is being sprayed all over somthing to enhance the engine's burn with it directly. Does it add power? YES. Is it worth buying? YEP. Would you use a NO2 sprayer or a CO2 sprayer? Well they both do the SAME EXACT THING. Nothing different about thier designs either - It is so simple there isn't anything different to do. CRYo2 has a few add ons that further enhance thier kit but it steps away from the intercooler sprayer question you asked. But just because DEI makes those parts for thier kit doesn't mean you can't use them with anyone elses - because you can. Almost ALL nitrous and gas handling kits use the same basic fittings and or threads on thier components. Part of everything being standardized - Isn't life great?
