N2O bottle behind driver seat??

Is this even legal? i hear you have to have some tube that dumps it out of your car it the pressure disk blows or something like that? i would like it to put it behind the driver seat till i get the money for a remote bottle opener......
any suggestions.

it's called a blow down tube...and i don't like it behind the seat because it's to easy to spot (like for the cops). and if you plan on racing at a track then you would have to have a blow down tube or in the trunk with the rear seat intact and in the upright position.

behind the seat means it's visible to anyone, too close to the driver and passengers, can't use the blowdown tube unless you drill through the floor, and at the track they won't let you have it mounted there especially w/o the blowdown tube in place. also the bottle should be mounted inline with the chassis at the proper angle to add in the N2O flow.

normally if you buy a new kit the blowdown tube is supplied to mate to the bottle. all you do is drill a hole in the trunk to fit the tube through so if the safety valve opens the N2O is discharged outside the car. you can seal up the edge of the hole to keep moisture from getting in also. the tube has a 90 degree bend after it comes out of the bottle side valve.

around here it is. the track we went to last year, though it was a crappy one, didn't allow us to have the bottle in unless the blow-down tube was installed correctly. due to safety purposes i guess, or the old guy checking the cars just wanted to be stupid cause i had an "import".

but some tracks may not care about it.
