Newbie help...please look

i think im goin to be juicing my car soon, but before i do or say anything i need some advice.

i have a bone stock motor 1.6 sohc vtec with manual tranny , but here i come with the questions:

1) which system should i use? i was thinking about dry kit, i want the simplest to use and the safest

2) what kind of shot 35, 50, 75?

3) what do i need to upgrade?spark plugs, wires(which ones should i use?) running on high octane would help also right?

4) which brand should i got for? NX, NOS, or something else?

5) do i need any gauges to monitor my motor? nos, air fuel, oil, temp?

please give me some advice.

thanx

1) - If you're new to it, I'd recommend a dry system, or a single-nozzle wet system. Easiest to install, and harder to screw up when it comes to tuning.

2) - I don't know how strong the type of motor is you're using. Someone else who does will have to answer this.

3) - If you are only going to go 50-75 hp, all I would recommend is a colder spark plug. High octane fuel isn't a necessity if you back the timing off. With a 50 HP hit you shouldn't have to touch the timing if your plugs are colder. You may want to look at upgrading your fuel pump if the one you have won't be sufficient.

4) - NOS or Nitrous Express, period.

5) - Two necessities are a bottle pressure gauge and a bottle warmer.

And read the instructions that come with the nitrous system. They are often very helpful, and you can avoid potential disaster if you follow them.

i wouldn't run more than a 55 shot on the D series motor if it's stock internals, it will decrease the life and the rods aren't as strong as the B series.

dry is ok but i'd go with the wet system, NX or NOS. add a fuel pump, colder plugs gapped closer than stock (NGK BKR7E-11, .035" gap, $2 each) and a degree or two of ignition retard for safety.

I/H/E and cat will work much better with the N2O if you don't have them already.

oh yeah and use 92+ octane fuel.

is nx's #20923 (look it up on nitrousexpress.com) a good kit for my car?

does nx make a dry kit? it would come with only one solenoid which is nitrous right? instead of wet single nozzle which has both nitrous and fuel solenoids?
could i only use nitrous solenoid and not use the fuel one to convert wet to dry?

can someone find out if nx makes dry and if yes then what is their product #. thanx

nx makes wet kits. if you want a dry kit then just get a dry kit like zex or nos. converting a wet to dry is pretty stupid. but converting a dry kit to a wet kit is a whole different story.

if u just use the n2o solenoid and not the fuel solenoid from a wet kit you wouldnt have any means to compensate for needed fuel enrichment w/ the injection of nitrous. dry kits do this "tweaking" your stock fuel system to compensate for the n2o.
