Nitrous in a B20?????

I am getting a 92 civic hb from my brother, i dont know crap about this car or hondas in general. From what he told me the car has a 98 b20 block with b16 v-tec heads, si cam, and si throttle body, a gsr oil pump, gsr tranny, light weight under drive pulleys, 500 hp nonslip race clutch, short throw shifter, race exhaust, and high flow intake manifold, he also told me it has high compression and a turbo would blow it and to be prepared to buy tires cause it dont hook up. He said theres more but i didnt much get or understand what he was talking about. MY QUESTION is does anyone have any idea what kind of horsepower and torque im looking at and if id hurt this engine if i put a small shot of nitrous on it say like a 50 shot just to have it on days i took it to the track like once a month. Im not looking to spray always just when needed.

as far as hp and torque...we cant really give you an accurate estimeate unless we know what all is done to it...Another thing we need to know is how much compression it has..as far as if a 50 shot is going to hurt it or not...well, first thing..nitrous wont blow a motor...bad tuning and bad driving is what will blow it up..nitrous just makes it easier to fuck up...a 50 shot on that motor shouldnt hurt it..as long as you take the proper nitrous rpecations like backing your timing down and going to colder heat range spark plugs..Running your timing retartd though, you will have less hp and torque, minimally, but it will be..you can get an msd digital 6 ignition that has a nitrous retard function and only retards timing when you are on the bottle...but i feel i'm getting a little too in depth for you at this point...Until you learn more about your motor and how things work with engines..i would steer clear of the bottle at this point in time...

But feel free to read the Nitrous for Newbies Thread, might be of some help to you:
