Ok, I finally finished my nitrous install this weekend, Its pretty fast! Anyways I also installed my nitrous gauge in my gauge pod. At first we tightend the line on the back as tight as we could and the gauge was not working, needle would not go up when bottle is on, and when you purged it the needle would not drop. Once we loosened the line on the back of the gauge a little it worked great. Except we noticed we loosened it to much and you could hear it leaking. So we tightened it down just enough to where we didnt hear it leaking and it would still work. My question is, Once you turn your bottle off, If you dont purge the line and your gauge is still reading whatever your bottle pressure was, should that drop over time (say a 24hour period)? I mean I dont know if the gauge is still leaking, I cant hear it or smell it, but once I turn the bottle off and see that the gauge is still holding pressure, and then come out to my car the next morning and the gauge is reading 3 instead of 8 or 9 that it read before. I didnt know if since the bottle was off whatever was in the lines would dissapate if not purged, or if its still leaking, does anyone know this? Also, is it bad that my bottle pressure usually only reads between 8 or 9 on the gauge? Thanks for all the input guys...
its possible that it might have a small leak, causing it to drop.
But be careful leaving pressure in the line, especailly in summer. The pressure could blow your gauge and possibly your line. Trust me, my gauge popped from accidently leaving pressure in the line
yes it will drop over time. You should purge it out though. If you don't have a purge just loosen up your line by the bottle a small bit(after shut) and release the psi.
ok, well its fine now its not leaking, but now I have another problem with it! It has been working fine, and now it doesnt glow indiglo anymore! It was glowing fine at night and now.. just barely a glow you cant even read the gauge, it still is getting power to it...Im not sure why its doing this. it looks like it is the actual face that glows, no bulb, but im not sure......its an obx gauge.
if it's true indiglo it should have no bulb so the only thing I can think is to check your ground. also check to see how much voltage the power wire it getting.
ok, well apparrently it is true indiglo because it has no bulb, I pulled the gauge and looked, the wire goes straight into the face of the gauge. I took it out and hooked it straight to the battery's positive and negative and still not working. At night you can see one small pencil eraser size spot that is trying to light up, but thats it. Apparrently the element went out in it after three days??? Dont buy obx gauges.... well I guess I can try to put an led bulb inside the gauge...think that will work?
Mods: Well, IT'S STOCK EXCEPT FOR MY 5000hp shot of nitrous!
....
Are you installing the Restrictor on the "t" on the main feed line? The main feed line should go to a adaptor "t" where you can "t" it off for the gauge. The gauge should be fed off of the "t" with a restrictor so only gaseous nitrous gets into the line going to the gauge. Running liquid nitrous to the gauge will damage it - especially cheaper ones.

the old indiglows were really bad they burnt out very easy thats why autometter stoped selling them i bet obx just used there old design since obx is a china brand.
i had afew in the late 90s from autometer they all only lasted afew months
