thinking about Nitrous

i have read through all the post in this section and im still not to sure what i should be going with, i dont want anything for the track and this car is my daily driver. and i have no idea what i should be spending or what system i should be looking into. so any feedback would be great. i do know what im getting into and know what i should expect from the Nitrous so im not a noob. so if anyone could tell me what i need or should look into that would be great

ok thanks, im pretty sure im going to go with a Zex kit. so if i was to buy this kit, what does it usually cost? im sure someone has bought it. and then how much more for bottle warmer, opener, pressure gauge and Zex spark plugs. i havent really looked at any sites for prices, i just thought i would ask here. and is it better for a dry kit to drill into the intake piping, or to get one of those ait amplifer filters ? anyone know ?

I think all the prices are on that site
another site is www.nopi.com
I paid $400 for my kit used
Another thing you want to check is how much its going to cost to get a refill and if its avalible in your area

I found out that there is no place to do re-fills where i live, but in another city, hour from my house, does do re-fills.. so thats not that bad. and one guy told me that when he had nitrous in his jetta, it cost him $50 to fill his bottle. i didnt ask how big of bottle, but im guessing 10lb. does that sound about right or am i going down a road that is really just gonna make me broke...

Avalibilty is key
I used to have to drive about an hour to get a refill
its ok at first, but it sucks after awhile
That is a choice you have to make
As far as the price, I paid $35 to fill a 10lbs bottle
If its harder to get, I would say the price seems high, but fair

yea it might be far, but i might be moving there for work anyway.. and until then, my mom basically lives there with all her meetings, so i would just get her to fill it up hahaha.. and thats 35 american for you.. which is close to 50 canadian, maybe a lil high

but i had another question, and dont feel like making another thread, mostly cause you would probably answer it... with the WOT switch (tps) when you arm it, does it automacially turn on nitrous at the WOT position.. or do you arm the WOT switch and then use another button to engage the nitrous...

oh and when talking about 30, 50, 75 shot.. that all depends on the size of the zozzle you are using right ?

thats not bad price then
wot switch does just what it says, pedal to the floor and it activates
with a zex kit, it gets the signal from the tps, so you won't need one
size shot depends on the jets

ok so then there is only one swicth ? sorry for all the questions, i just want to know what i am doing before i end up getting a kit, and totally ruining everything..
so back to my question then, say you were racing someone, you arm the nitrous.. and then when ever you were WOT, the tps switch would acknowlage it and you would spray. so what if u didnt want to spray in first ? would u have to shift and then arm ? that sounds wrong..

thats correct
first, no spray, switch is off
second
arm switch
wot, automatically spays
unless you get a venom kit, they are fully programmable but cost $$$$$

ok makes sense.. but still sounds akaward..to have to shift and arm the switch..
so then as soon as you release the gas to switch gears nos turns off and re-engages again in 3rd at WOT.. hopefully you wouldent miss a gear and stop the gas ...

i dont think i have any more questions hahahah ... work is boring so gotta think of something all day...

so i would think that you have nitrous... and thats how you would go about it... 1st... shift, arm nitrous... and go baby go ? ? or something along those lines... i hate to say it.. but stuff like this is dipicted soo bad in movies .. AKA fast and the furious... none of this push button and go sh*t

there are push and go kits, but wot kits are the safest
you are exact correct about how to use it
and mis shiftng is very bad, if you think you are going to miss, best bet is to let off the throttle
