This is the new knob like VTEC controller Bought it for 55 dollars and i like it alot more htan my spoon vtec controller has smoother Vtec Engagment and car seems to run better for some strange reason
Hmmm... this one's silver, but all of the other BC's ones I've seen have an all black body.
The version put out by Field has kinda been the low cost leader for awhile now, but the BC is about the same price so it might be a good one to check out.
i just bought one and am about to install it i'll run it a few days and let yall know how it works test it back and forth with ingagement and disengagement to see how it works i'll post back in a few days yeah mine is black colored too i like it balck though i bought mine for about 55 bucks from inlinefour.com with 10 bucks shipping it should help on the low range and even it it doesn't disengage untill the revs drop why would that really matter if your drag racing cause the revs wont drop any how other than may be the oil pressure might not be enough to keep vtec engaged i dont see a problem with that. but for daily driving why would you have it set really low anyhow i would only lower it if i was racing other than that i would leave my vtec set at stock for high way driving and what else
well i just got done putting it in and its kinda like vetggra said it wont disengage at the same point it engages but it think it might be due to the fact that it is not really that smart of a product i think it relies on pressure more than rpms if you half throttle it into vtec and then let it drop past vtec and then mash on the pedal again it will still be in vtec mode even though you were past that point. if your racing it don't matter cause your revs don't drop anyhow but for daily driving i'd say leave it set at about 4700-5000 and you should be ok i rarely hit those revs on the street for normal driving but you just have to be causous. I like the fact the you can change it on the fly and after the intial setup i figured out that every mark on the vtec cons dial was 1000rpm so it was really esy to figure out what my vtec was set at. I also like the vtec led indicator lights that tell you your in vtec or not its green when not in vtec and red when it is in it. well that was my review and it does what it promises for 55 bucks you can't get a better easy working one but if you want more tuning options say fuel and air mixture then go with something else otehr wise this is good for budget setups

I have a question Brotz. when you hooked up your v-con did you cut the vtm wire?
Also, V-tec never disengages at the engagement rpm on a dohc. Here's a link for reference. VTEC - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia plus, if you sit in your car and slowly rev the engine to the engagement point (with no controllers installed) and then slowly back off of it, you will notice that v-tec disengages at a lower rpm.
i cant remember if i cut the vtm wire or not its been so long since i looked at it ill try to take another look and let you know i just know i followed the greddy ecu wiring pinout cause the one that came with it was whack.
