Hello everyone. Recently i walked out to my car to see that there were two scratches on the rear and front fender. It looked like these scratches were done intentionally.
The keyed marks aren't deep enough that it passed the basecoat but it did go below the clearcoat for sure so buffing it with polish won't do. So should i just buy a clearcoat pen and fill in the crack and then buff it out with a rubbing compound? Or would it be a wiser decision to just get it repainted at an auto body shop? thanks for the help.

get it repainted. if i am not mistaken, if you can buff out the scratches then you will need to repaint the damaged parts. you can take it to a body shop and have them sand off the clear coat and re coat it. but for a little extra money, you can just get it re painted. whenever you do something to one part of the car, it never looks like it matches to the rest of the car. good luck. hopefully i helped you out.
thanks for the reply. i searched around a bit on the internet (another forum) and was linked to this site: http://www.acuraworld.com/forums/sho...26&postcount=4
i might try that and if i mess up the painting then ill get it repainted. thanks anyways.

if you take it to a professional detailer he ought to be able to buff out the scratches with a high speed buffer and buffing compound, i wouldn't try it yourself because it is easy to burn through the clear coat with this method

if its more then a little deep then its pushing just buffing it out, you can try and wetsand it and buff and if it burns through then just get it repainted anyway, if your gonna paint that is. if you want it to look good then your going to have to blend the panels then are adjacent to it, except bumpers
