I have a 97 honda civic 4dr. and I've always liked the front bumper of a 99-00 honda civic model. is there a way i can get a 99 front bumper and somehow put it on my 97 civic. I have been told that some brackets are different but can be done. i would like any opinions related to it.

its a 99-00 conversion, basically you will have your 97 with the front end of a 99-00...which includes bumper, fenders, headlights, grille, and hood
it's a bigger job than swapping the bumper, but for people who like the look of the 99-00 its worth it

i have done this conversion and its easy. Things you need:
When i did the swap, i also used a 99-00 rad support, but the 96-98 works, there are just two tabs you will need to cut in order to fit everything, You will see which ones when you're trying to fit everything together. Everything bolts on exactly the same and you will love the results. Definitely worth it.
oh, and the coupe and the 4 door parts are identical on the front end

there are some pics in my sig
Thats what i thought about everything bolting on exactly back in place. i just could never wonder what made it so different from both versions of bumpers.
thanks a lot as well.
thanks a lot. I'll look into it. does it cost much?
depends on what a lot of money is to you. its a lot of parts, and depending on what you can find at either junkyards or ebay, you would do better that way, dealers will cost a lot.
if krimsonk20 comes back in here, he did it, so he would have a better idea about it...try messaging him and asking

i know the grille is wider, so that changes the bumper and hood, i think the headlights are slightly different too, so that also changes the fenders...
it does seem like a lot, looks pretty similar, but i agree with you, the 99-00 bumper looks nicer than the 96-98
