I just painted my sideskirts about a week ago, and was wondering how long should I wait until I can put them on the car? I want them to be nice and hard/dry so they don't chip easy, I don't feel like going through this again for awhile atleast.
a week? put em on now.. u could have only waited a day... unless you wanted to put them on REAL fast... transtar makes a clear coat additive... clear dries in about 30-45 min.. and ready for wet sanding!
I used dupli color adhesive promoter, color paint, and clear coat for my front lip, side skirts, and rear apron. Only scratches I have are from scraping on driveways. Its been almost a year too. Only chips I have are on my floor mat from my messy friends that no longer eat in my car.
That's cool, did you guys wait awhile to put the piece on the car? The sideskirts feel pretty hard, and I was going to put them on last night, but I forgot to get more clips from the dealership last week. I destroyed the little clips that hold the sideskirts on the bottom while taking them both off to paint.
Well i went to the dealership to get clips, bastards wanted FOUR DOLLARS PER CLIP, AND IT HAD TO BE ORDERED!!! Neadless to say, I said f*ck that, and went to a hardware store and bought all 6 clips for THREE dollars :vpleased:. I just installed the sideskirts now. It's funny, they actually came out a little blacker than the rest of the car. :
